Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional struggle between joy and grief. The palette blends warm yellows and oranges to suggest joy, contrasted against deeper blue and muted purple tones representing grief. The split horizontal layout creates tension, with the 'noise' pattern on top inducing a sense of joy giving way to the 'mirror' pattern below, symbolizing reflection and grief. The arrangement is deliberately imbalanced, creating striking collisions where bright accents disrupt darker, muted fields, reflecting the chaos of emotions battling for space. Detected 'broken pixels' in the arrangement introduce imperfection, emphasizing the fractured nature of these feelings.
