Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional dichotomy of emptiness and desire through a carefully chosen palette of black, white, pale blue, and red. The hard edges of the layout frame a central area of contrasting colors that suggest a rise against a fall, mirroring the stated emotional collision. The upward movement is represented by cool tones (pale blue and white) that communicate desire and hope, while the downward movement is filled with warmer tones (red and black) reflecting pressure and chaos. The patterns evoke a visual tension that encapsulates the struggle of these opposing emotions, with broken pixels introducing imperfection, enhancing the sense of an unresolved emotional experience.
