Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional collision between nostalgia and progress. The left side, themed in warmer, muted tones of sepia and tan, evokes a sense of memory and reflection, while the right utilizes cooler, dappled shades of faded blue to signify advancement and dynamism. The structured pattern of cracks on the left contrasts beautifully with the chaotic flow of broken dots on the right, signifying a balance between calm nostalgia against the backdrop of relentless progress. Negative space is intentionally preserved to amplify the emotional resonance throughout, allowing moments of pause before encountering dense color clusters that signify pressure.
