Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional contrast between pressure and quiet through a dense concentration of colors on the left transitioning into lighter hues on the right. The sharp contrasts in hues reflect the tension of hard edges clashing with softer shades, mimicking the chaotic shifts in emotions prompted by the seed. The palette combines muted off-whites and grays of quiet with splashes of compressed red to symbolize pressure, creating a dynamic, unbalanced flow that suggests a struggle. The use of broken pixels adds imperfection and disruption, emphasizing moments of clarity amidst confusion, as they interrupt the overall flow. The center-right area serves as a focal point, where the collision of patterns peaks, highlighting the core tension of release against overwhelming density.
