Artist Statement
The emotional tone of 'longing vs resolve' creates a tension between distant hope and firm determination. The selected palette balances warm warning orange against the coolness of ink black and violet gray, suggesting both a feeling of yearning and stability. The central collision occurs in the grid's center, where warmer tones disrupt the cooler expanses, echoing the concept of a bridge—a connection made. This design mimics the intersection of longing's delicate whispers and resolve's steadfast presence, capturing the essence of a bridge rather than depicting it literally. The intentional broken pixels introduce organic disruptions, enhancing the emotional depth of the piece, as if the journey is fraught with imperfections. The quiet negative space around these intense contrasts enriches the sense of intimacy and distance, fostering a visual dialogue between the two opposing feelings.
