Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension between quiet and pressure utilizing a palette that juxtaposes muted tones with sharper contrasts. The dark navy serves as a base, representing density, while the off-white and faint peach colors introduce areas of softness and space. The conflict occurs diagonally from the corner, where crowded pixels of compressed red meet the fading light of the softer colors. This layout resonates with the concept of a ringed halo surrounding a void, reflecting chaos settling into calm. The patterns derived from 'flame' and 'stairs' embody the ebb and flow between intensity and serenity, illustrating an emotional landscape of gradual release against sharp bursts of pressure.
