Artist Statement
This piece represents the emotional tension between joy and grief, expressed through a palette of warm yellows and oranges for joy, contrasted with deep blues and muted purples for grief. The layout features descending pixel clusters that evoke tears or falling rain, while the use of broken dots for grief creates a fragmented feeling, interrupted by bright rings for joy. The palette intentionally alternates warm and cool tones, ensuring a visual rhythm that echoes the conflict between upbeat vibrancy and heavy sorrow. The main collision occurs in the central band, where joy meets grief, forming a thick texture that illustrates emotional complexity.
