Artist Statement
The emotional tone contrasts the calmness of peace against the turbulence of restlessness. The palette of pale mint and storm gray creates a visual dichotomy, with the warmer tones trying to overflow into the cooler areas. The center carries warmer colors resembling presence and motion, while the edges retouch a sense of calm with subtle gray and black tones. The interplay between a lattice of quiet symmetry and bands of pressure suggests a narrative of calm trying to contain the intensity of life’s stresses. Broken pixels introduce intention, creating moments of disruption without becoming a focal point. The layout emphasizes negative space, allowing viewers to feel the tension without becoming overwhelmed, representing movement restrained by tranquility.
