Artist Statement
The emotional tone explores the tension between joy and grief. The palette incorporates warm shades of yellow and orange to evoke joy, contrasted by deep blues and muted purples representing grief. The layout features a split, with the vibrant colors dominating the top half while the cooler tones fill the lower half. This stark division creates a visual narrative of contrasting emotional states. The patterns, with grid-like structures in the depths of grief, and playful, intersecting split screens of joy create a rhythmic dance of tension and release, embodying the seed's essence of symmetric imbalance and oscillating emotional states. A few broken pixels introduce the imperfection of human experience, while pockets of negative space invite contemplation and highlight internal conflict.
