Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tension between defiance and submission. The palette of warm coral and cold slate reflect conflicting feelings of heat against coolness, echoing resistance and acceptance. The dense inner island represents the defiance, surrounded by a quieter sea that symbolizes submission. The main collision occurs where deep, dark tones punctuate the lighter fields, creating an unsettling interruption that mirrors the complex dynamics within the seed. The broken pixels serve as marks of wear, portraying the fragility in this ongoing struggle.
