Artist Statement
This piece expresses the emotional tension between quiet and pressure through a confrontational arrangement of colors. The selected palette of off-white, dust gray, compressed red, dark navy, and faint peach creates a dialogue of contrasts: the quiet hues softly resonate on one side, while sharper, denser tones collide on the opposite edge. The main collision occurs diagonally through the center of the square—a symbolic fracture representing the shatter against the tide, where calm meets chaos. The layout resembles a mirror, with intentional disruptions evoking feelings of imbalance and disarray amidst symmetry, inspiring introspection on clarity and confusion.
