Artist Statement
This piece navigates the emotional dichotomy of softness and severity. The palette features gentle hues like powder pink and warm white juxtaposed with the starkness of carbon black and sharp crimson to illustrate contrasting emotional states. The inner 4x4 area is dominated by softer colors that symbolize gentle moments, while the outer frame presents darker, more severe tones, creating tension between the two states. The patterns of constellations and ripples represent the conflict and tension of emotions, echoing pulses that suggest both forgiveness and guilt. The calculated placement of broken pixels introduces intentional imperfection, reinforcing the idea that neither emotion can exist in isolation, but rather collide and overlap, creating a dynamic and unsettled emotional landscape.
