Artist Statement
This piece explores the push and pull between loneliness and connection through a color palette evoking warmth and depth. The contrast emerges from burnt oranges and dark reds floating amid the charcoal, where the absence of color creates a feeling of emptiness. The arrangement of darker tones on the left symbolically weighs the composition down, while brighter hues suggest fleeting connections on the right. The falling pixel layout introduces a descending motion, encapsulating the idea of weighted memory and fragmented sparks of connection. The broken pixel strategy subtly introduces an imperfection that resonates with the theme of broken memories, enhancing the poignancy of solitude.
