Artist Statement
This piece encapsulates the emotional tension between longing and resolve, using a palette of deep navy, black, single white, and dim cyan to express both warmth and distance. The contrast between muted colors and brighter accents creates a feeling of a fragile boundary. The central collision is apparent where dark rows of stripes (resolve) interact with clusters of lighter, scattered pixels (longing), suggesting a struggle between stability and yearning. This arrangement plays with the idea of intimacy and distance, as the broken frame allows emotion to seep through, evoking a sense of incomplete resolution.
