Artist Statement
This artwork navigates the emotional landscape of quiet versus pressure, using a palette that reflects both stillness and intensity. The contrasting colors of muted fields like faint peach and dust gray evoke tranquility, while compressed red and dark navy embody the pressure and density intended to clash. The layout suggests a spiral dynamic that flows from bottom to top, symbolically releasing from heavy masses into quieter spaces. The central collision point showcases a dense concentration of color that fractures into lighter shades, visually interpreting the conflict between hard edges and soft corners. Broken pixels are intentionally scattered throughout, representing moments of imperfection amidst this tension, enhancing the emotional weight of the piece.
