Artist Statement
This composition captures the contrast between vulnerability and strength through the interplay of colors reflecting fragility and resilience. The palette of stain brown, ash gray, warm ivory, soft gold, and deep wine illustrates the emotional weight of guilt and the softness of forgiveness. The dominance of deep wine in the center symbolizes strength, while the surrounding softer hues suggest vulnerability. Broken pixels are placed to create intentional disruptions, adding complexity and evoking a sense of flaw that is simultaneously grounding and liberating. The central conflict is prominent, representing the push and pull of these emotions, echoing the theme of a hinge that is in constant negotiation between pressure and release.
