Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional tension between loneliness and connection. The chosen palette of pink, red, gray, and dark maroon reflects warmth and vulnerability contrasted against depth and detachment. The left side embodies loneliness through a rain pattern with muted colors and increased negative space, while the right side represents connection with structured stripes to evoke closeness. The collision occurs in the central transition—where the stripes of warmth meet the loneliness, creating a dissonance that speaks to the complexity of human emotion. The single pixel and broken elements are deliberately placed to reflect a fragmented memory, echoing the concept of connection weighed down by isolation.
