Artist Statement
The emotional tone captures the struggle between longing and resolve, illustrated through stark contrasts and collisions. The chosen palette of ice blue, ink black, and warning orange embodies clarity against confusion; ice blue signifies the yearning, while ink black frames the resolve. The predominant icy tones (representing longing) occupy around 65% of the canvas, with bursts of orange acting as points of tension. The pattern is a reference to the seed's concepts, with echoing marks of longing colliding with scar-like patterns of resolve through the center, creating a visual dialogue of conflict and repair, like a patchwork of emotional scars. The edge style reflects a corner-heavy structure, drawing focus inward, mirroring the inward pull of yearning toward resolution. Broken pixels scattered throughout disrupt the order, adding to the emotional complexity without dominating the space.
