Artist Statement
The emotional tone is a push and pull between longing, represented by gentle ripples of blues and soft whites, and resolve, which manifests through strong, grounded blacks and vibrant oranges. The palette was chosen for its balance of cool and warm tones to reflect the tension between hope and certainty. The collision occurs at the center, where deep black interrupts the soft blues, creating a vivid focal point. This reflects the 'ladder against fault line' from the seed, suggesting fragility against strength, structured by ash-like patterns and a ripple effect that pulls oxygen from the canvas.
