Artist Statement
The artwork embodies a struggle between vulnerability and strength through colors and patterns. The palette, comprising soft blues and muted plums, evokes a sense of melancholy wonder, with gentle tones dancing with deeper shades. In this layout, the cross-current theme is illustrated by contrasting densely layered spaces of soft cyan and lavender gray, representing strength, against the vulnerable, lightly textured crosshatch pattern of moon white and muted plum. The collision occurs towards the center, creating a tension that reflects struggle and connection within the abstract cage of emotions. Broken pixels disrupt the structure, embodying both strength and vulnerability in the piece, hinting at a delicate balance between exposure and shelter.
