Artist Statement
The emotional tone is rooted in the dichotomy of defiance and submission. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green reflects a struggle between heavy darkness and soft illumination. The left half embodies a broken pattern of defiance using dark hues, creating a tense atmosphere, while the right side flows into a maze-like submission in lighter colors, suggesting escape or relief from pressure. The main contrast is where deep violets collide with soft golds, exemplifying emotional tension that seeks release amidst structured chaos. The tiny cross shape seed inspired an underlying grid-like tension, while the broken pixels add imperfection that further emphasizes emotional conflict.
