Artist Statement
The emotional tone arises from the duality of envy and gratitude, represented through contrasting colors and patterns. The palette, rooted in shades of burnt orange, dark red, charcoal, and gold, evokes warmth and tension, suggesting the emotional conflict highlighted in the seed. The outer edges emphasize a chaotic, dense crosshatch, while the inner core embodies a softer, more structured pattern, symbolizing a transition from pressure to calm. The collision occurs primarily at the border where the two patterns meet, illustrating the struggle between these opposing emotions. The use of broken pixels adds a sense of imperfection, resonating with the notions of 'tear' and 'quiet'.
