Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional spectrum of defiance versus submission through contrasting colors and patterns. The palette draws from the mourning renewal concept, using deep blues and pale yellows to create a layered depth. The dramatic contrast occurs centrally, where the defiance pattern (echo) sharply interrupts the softer submission lattice, creating a feeling of conflict. The falling pixels layout contributes to the sensation of descent and imbalance, embodying both pressure and release in their arrangement.
