Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the conflict between softness and severity, reflecting the emotional tension between calmness and pressure. I chose a palette of warm whites, powder pinks, sharp crimson, carbon black, and steel gray to signify this duality. The central contrast occurs where the bright crimson interrupts the soft pink, representing sudden moments of clarity amid confusion. The spiral pattern suggests movement inward, echoing the push and pull of conflicting emotions, while the edge style creates a weighted feel at the bottom to evoke groundedness in subjectivity.
