Artist Statement
This artwork plays with the emotional duality of vulnerability and strength. The palette of red, black, pale blue, and white creates a stark contrast that echoes the tension between a vulnerable center and a strong, dark border, encapsulating the feeling of exposure vs. protection. The central collision occurs through the interplay of soft whites and pale blues against the solid black, signifying the struggle between light and shadow, desire and emptiness. The broken pixels introduce imperfections that are reminiscent of scars or interruptions, allowing for a narrative of resilience amidst fragility. The layout leaves ample negative space, enhancing the sense of an 'empty room' where emotions linger.
