Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional dichotomy of softness and severity through a contrasting color palette. The soft hues of powder pink and warm white contribute to a gentle, nurturing atmosphere, while the sharp crimson and carbon black introduce tension and severity. The arrangement of colors creates a spiral pattern that evokes motion, with the central area weighed down by darker tones, surrounded by lighter colors that ripple outward, representing an open gate to vulnerability. Broken pixels introduce intentional disruptions, reminding us of emotional scars amidst the softness. The main collision occurs centrally, echoing the push and pull between the softness and severity, embodying the complex interplay of guilt and forgiveness.
