Artist Statement

This artwork captures the emotional conflict between relief and dread, achieved through dense clusters of dark shades on one side and lighter, airier tones on the opposite. The selected palette, featuring storm gray for dread and soft sky for relief, creates an intense contrast. The pattern flows from a heavy accumulation in the top left corner—representing dread—transitioning to a softer, more open space in the bottom right, symbolizing release. The broken lines intermittently introduce a sense of disruption, reminiscent of fragmented thoughts and emotions, while maintaining a soft-edge style that invites contemplation rather than sharpness. Overall, this piece embodies a struggle between tension and ease without suggesting a literal form, allowing the viewer to experience the emotional interplay intrinsically.
