Artist Statement
This artwork explores the delicate tension between nostalgia and progress. Utilizing a palette of muted purples, deep blues, yellows, and oranges evokes a spectrum of emotions from warmth to cool introspection. The contrasting color placements and patterns — a flame against rings — create a visual dialogue of rising memories colliding with advancing hopes. The bottom-weighted design draws attention downward while the scattered, broken pixels introduce an element of imperfection, emphasizing the bittersweet essence of both contrasting emotions. The arrangement encapsulates a sense of movement — from calm nostalgia at the top to assertive progress at the bottom, a horizontal split represents the constant battle within.
