Artist Statement
The emotional tone embodies the clash between defiance and submission, illustrated through sharp contrasts of color and form. I selected a palette that juxtaposes clean white and ice blue against the darker ink black and warning orange to represent conflict and tension. This reflects the notion of an uneven border, where bright accents (defiance) collide with muted colors (submission), creating a visual echo of pressure that demands attention. The patterns of stacked and shattered configurations converge toward the center, encapsulating the theme of chaotic order, presenting both a rising pulse and interruptions that suggest restlessness, while keeping doting hues in the corners to emphasize a sense of quiet channel. The broken pixels are distributed through the composition to represent intentional disruptions, affecting the overall symmetry and enhancing the narrative of conflict and resolution.
