Artist Statement
This composition addresses the emotional duality of loneliness and connection, presenting the stark contrast between isolation in a crowded world and the warmth of human ties. The top half uses a burnt orange and dark red palette, applying a crosshatch pattern to suggest complexity and noise found in loneliness; the bottom half transitions to gold and charcoal showing connection through a checker pattern, symbolizing interaction and community. The deliberate asymmetry, with more vibrant tones on top and muted shades underneath, encapsulates the tension of being surrounded yet feeling alone, with spatial gaps fulfilling the required negative space for emotional resonance. The center seed influences a burst of adjacent colors, reflecting a call towards connection amidst loneliness.
