Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional tension between tenderness and rage through contrasting colors and patterns. The chosen palette of deep red (suggesting rage) and soft pale blue (representing tenderness) creates a dynamic visual dialogue. The rage manifests through sharp thresholds while tenderness is expressed through comforting checker patterns, colliding in the center, possibly alluding to a struggle between these emotions. The structure encourages upward movement on one side, opposing a slow sink, embodying an internal conflict. The intentional placement of broken pixels represents imperfections, hinting at underlying emotions that bleed into one another, resonating with the themes of guilt and forgiveness.
