Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional duality of longing and resolve. Utilizing a palette of warm rose clay and distant lilac against cooler tones of warm shadow and cool blue creates a striking contrast that mirrors the tension experienced when opposing emotions collide. The dominant colors are soft and intimate, yet the sharp edges of the arrangement (jagged edges) disrupt any sense of balance, encapsulating a chaotic sense of yearning. The central collision is marked by a denser cluster of warm tones, representing resolve, breaking toward empty cool spaces that evoke a feeling of longing. The intentional placement of broken pixels serves to enhance the feelings of imperfection and distance while providing a sense of echo to the emotional landscape.
