Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional tension between 'panic' and 'control' using a contrasting palette of dark and soft colors. The black and dark violet create a heavy mass, while soft gold and pale green act as bright sparks against this density, representing moments of joy amidst an underlying grief. The asymmetrical pattern illustrates chaotic intersections with sharp zigzag edges, creating a sense of imbalance and movement. The interplay of densely packed colors against negative space enhances the feeling of unresolved tension, embodying a fractured balance between the two emotions.
