Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the tension between relief and dread through the use of contrasting colors and patterns. The 'fear_hope' palette was chosen to convey the interplay of dark and light emotions, with soft gold sparingly breaking the heaviness of blacks and dark violets. The layout reflects a mostly empty space, allowing the solitary bright elements to resonate against the background density. The pattern of rain represents the weight of dread, while the grid signifies an underlying structure of relief, echoing the collision of feelings derived from the seed.
