Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this piece explores the dichotomy between restlessness and peace, where elements of turbulence meet softness. The palette combines warm and cool colors to represent this contrast — the warm shadows suggest restlessness, while the cool blue and distant lilac evoke peace. The layout follows an 'empty room' concept, where a chaotic cluster of emotion manifests primarily in the center, symbolizing tension, while surrounding these are quiet moments of lightness—a deliberate use of negative space that clashes distinctly, creating balance. The patterns represent the interconnectedness of memories (marks) intersecting with moments of fluid transition (stripes), reflecting the core themes of the seed.
