Artist Statement
This piece explores the tension between quiet and pressure through an intentional distribution of colors that evoke both calm and density. The dark navy (#1A2A6D) acts as a weighted border, creating a sense of confinement and pressure on one side, while the soft, faint peach (#F1C6B1) provides a quiet contrast that suggests openness and airiness. The arrangement of colors forms a diagonal flow where the darker shades appear more compressive on the left, gradually loosening into lighter tones at the right. The broken pixels introduce intentional disruptions, enhancing the feeling of shattering against a tide, embodying the struggle between stabilization and release. This visual collision directly reflects the abstract seed, as the diagonal argument creates movement across the square, showcasing a battle between hard edges and soft forms.
