Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the interplay between loneliness and desire, reflected through color contrasts and patterns. The palette of navy, black, white, and dim cyan evokes a sense of emotional depth, while the top half employs a grid to showcase desire, with structured placements suggesting hope and connection. In contrast, the lower half employs a crosshatch pattern to represent emptiness, reflecting chaos and disarray as it interacts jaggedly with the structured upper half. The broken pixels add a layer of imperfection, emphasizing the unresolved collision of emotions, while the negative space creates breathing moments within the intensity of the arrangement. The overall flow from top to bottom facilitates a narrative journey from structured desire to chaotic emptiness.
