Artist Statement
The emotional tone captures the tension between relief and dread, represented through a palette of deep navy and dim cyan contrasted against stark whites. The dark colors dominate the top half, creating a weighty presence that suggests dread, while the lighter colors dot throughout the bottom, like fleeting moments of relief. Contrasts collide at the center, where dark edges frame lighter dots, simulating an uneasy balance between oppressive weight and whimsical levity. The seed's layers of symmetry and breaks manifest as mirrored sections with intentional flaws, creating an abstract tension and depth that feels both claustrophobic and liberating.
