Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a duality of longing represented by softer, muted colors and resolve embodied in stronger contrasts. The quiet channel layout creates a narrow path of negative space flanked by dense areas that suggest pressure and movement, with the main collision occurring centrally, where the checker patterns of longing clash against the structured frames of resolve. The chosen palette emphasizes this duality: moss green and stone gray provide grounding, while rust and small gold introduce warmth and tension, echoing the feeling of distant yet firm connections.
