Artist Statement
The emotional tone captures the push-pull dynamic of vulnerability and strength, resonating through the split layout. The top rows, embodying vulnerability, utilize pale blues and whites representing exposure and fragility, while the bottom rows, symbolizing strength, use dense blacks and reds to evoke stability and rootedness. The main contrast is located at the center, where soft halos of pale colors meet jagged, powerful edges, creating a sense of collision and tension between the exposed and the protected. The broken pixels disrupt the smooth gradient, adding a layer of imperfection that reflects the fragility of safety and exposure. Thus, the seed informed an abstract representation where lightness and shadow dance, highlighting the complexities of emotional resilience.
