Artist Statement
This artwork captures the duality of hope and fear through contrasting patterns and colors. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green reflects the emotional spectrum: black and dark violet represent fear, while the softer gold and pale green symbolize hope. The inner diamond shape imbues a sense of pressure surrounded by jagged edges, conveying a chaotic rhythm. Contrasts occur as the crosshatch of fear clashes with the framed pattern of hope, embodying the collision of emotions—directly eliciting feelings of conflict and resolution. The use of broken pixels enhances the tension, creating a sense of imperfection and urgency in the piece.
