Artist Statement
This composition reflects the emotional tension between relief and dread through a strategic color placement and pattern. The use of muted sepia and tan with splashes of faded blue creates a feeling of a space that is both heavy and light. The asymmetry generated by the placement of darker hues in one corner gives a sense of weight, while the brighter colors provide moments of relief that clash, creating a dynamic flow from top to bottom.
