Artist Statement
This piece explores the tension between nostalgia and progress, using a palette of muted navy, black, and dim cyan to evoke feelings of depth and distance, alongside white as a contrasting highlight. The layout creates a visual 'falling' effect, enhancing the sense of descent and reflection. The upper half employs a structured, staircase-like pattern representing progress, while the lower half breaks into chaotic drips, suggesting nostalgia and fragmentation. The main collision occurs where the structured pattern ends, collapsing into randomness, emphasizing the struggle between the two emotional states.
