Artist Statement
This piece expresses a dichotomy where longing and resolve coexist through a careful arrangement of colors and empty spaces. The palette, named 'hunger_restraint,' consists of muted cream to evoke warmth, alongside darker hues like blackened plum and iron gray to symbolize the weight of longing and the presence of resolve. The dominant colors create a layered emotional landscape, with intense reds and oranges representing urgency amidst the quiet fields of cream and gray. The collision occurs centrally, with broken pixels weaving through the piece, enhancing the feeling of flickering hope and unresolved tension. Negative space creates connections between the rich clusters, suggesting a thread that binds the two emotional states within the constraints of an 'empty room' layout.
