Artist Statement
The emotional tone derives from the struggle between longing and resolve, depicted through a palette reflecting warmth (pink, red) and coolness (gray, dark maroon). The top half of the grid houses a dense, braided pattern of longing with softer pink and red shades, while the lower half transitions to a structured staircase pattern in gray and dark maroon, embodying resolve. The main collision occurs where the two halves meet, with a woven texture overlapping a clear boundary. The broken pixels introduce intentional disruptions, symbolizing moments of damage and repair amidst the longing. This composition captures the balance of emotion and contrast without visual representation, hosting a narrative of push and pull.
