Artist Statement
This piece explores the tension between control and surrender through a dynamic interplay of sharp contrast and gentle gradients. The palette evokes awe and terror, combining cosmic indigo and void black to create depth, while cold gold and deep teal add warmth and intrigue. The main collision occurs in the center, where clusters of noise collide with cleaner, clearer paths—symbolizing the struggle of restraint versus chaos. The layout spirals inward, emphasizing an overfilled center pushing against the boundaries of negative space, evoking a sense of pressure and release. Broken pixels sporadically interrupt the clean lines, representing the imperfections in this emotional landscape.
