Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional contrast between certainty and curiosity through a palette that suggests melancholy wonder. The colors—rain blue, lavender gray, moon white, soft cyan, and muted plum—are arranged to create a tension between firm boundaries and moments of unresolved intrigue. The design incorporates a deliberate break in the border, which signifies the chasm between structure (certainty) and the mystery of the unknown (curiosity). The main collision of colors occurs centrally, where solid blocks of rain blue and darker plum interact with softer hues, creating a flickering effect that evokes both relief and dread. The texture of broken pixels adds intentional imperfections to reinforce the theme of tension between the known and unknown, urging the eye to wander and explore the abstract narrative of rise and retreat in emotional landscape.
