Artist Statement
This artwork expresses the tension between loneliness and connection, utilizing a palette of deep blacks and soft golds to evoke the emotional complexity. The top half embodies loneliness with muted dark colors that create a heavy atmosphere, representing distance and fragmentation. The bottom half, using brighter tones, symbolizes connection with more vivid brightness. The central band uses crosshatching patterns to show the collision of feelings, where isolation meets warmth, suggesting a struggle or burst of energy amidst hidden emotions. The top-weighted layout emphasizes the pressure of loneliness while allowing the possibility of connection to emerge from below, leading to an overall conversation between stark isolation and the potential for merging with others.
