Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional tension between envy and gratitude, split horizontally. The top half, encapsulating envy, features a pattern of deep shades to suggest heaviness, while the bottom, representing gratitude, uses brighter, sparking colors suggesting lightness and optimism. The contrast between the black and lime colors creates a collision of feelings, amplifying a sense of noise against the calmness below. Broken pixels introduce unpredictability, mirroring real-life imperfections in dealing with these emotions.
