Artist Statement
The emotional tone of nostalgia versus progress is conveyed through a palette of deep navy and stark white, creating a tension between dense shadows and illuminated spaces. The left half utilizes the 'target' pattern, suggesting nostalgia through crowded, chaotic points, while the right half employs a 'maze', representing progress as organized paths. The contrast between the subdued tones of the left and the brighter hues of the right embodies the push and pull of memory against forward movement. A few broken pixels add a sense of imperfection and human touch amidst the structured progress, allowing space for reflection and a quiet pause amidst the energetic flow.
